Aug 01, 2011 The Stanley Parable is an experimental narrative-driven first person game. It is an exploration of choice, freedom, storytelling and reality, all examined through the lens of what it means to play a video game. Link to YouTube playlist: created by Markiplier. Rights to the gameplay.
Excellent productionThe Stanley Parable is a very unusual game. In the game we play the role of an office worker who wakes up and sees that the office he works in is empty. The narrator wants to help us in this difficult situation, who tries to lead us to the next rooms. And this is where the fun begins.Because we don't have to listen to him, which gives us the freedom to play. Even though the game has no open world, we can get out of the way in many situations. Of course, we will still be accompanied by a narrator who tries to take us to where he wanted us to go before, but still it's up to us what we do.Despite the lack of an open world, the game gives us a lot of opportunities, which allows us to have about 5 hours of fun. To show that 5 hours is a lot, it's a simple thread where we listen to the narrator can be completed in less than 5 minutes (there is even such an achievement).
5 hours with a great narrator is definitely not time wasted. There's no need to talk about graphics here, in the game, because it's simple, but it doesn't matter much, because it's not the most important. The most important thing is the gameplay itself, listening to the narrator, who gets nervous when we do something not according to his thoughts, the desire to discover new rooms and look for new endings. Posted: 3 AprilI played this as a child and thought the concept was cool so I had a couple friends over for a birthday party and decided to pull this out and just get a few endings. Holy ♥♥♥♥ most of this was lost on me. I would suggest playing a bit yourself and/or watching some videos on it as this game really made me think about my relationship with this game and some others in general.(Spoilers Bellow)Doing as the narrator tells you to you get a happy ending.
As you ♥♥♥♥ around and ignore him more and more you start to see him get angry and sad and confused as to what is happeniong. Infact the whole way this game is just telling u to ♥♥♥♥ off and stop playing.

You go deeper and deeper to see what more this weird game has to offer but the deeper you prod the more the narrator seems to push back. Everytime I try to gather all my opinions on what it means I just start jumping from place to place. Every solution just sounds wrong and right at the same time.In short please play this game when the new version comes out, You won't regret it and I thoroughly enjoyed picking at the game a decipher its hidden meaning.
